July regathering 411

Hooray, hooray!!  After much prayer and planning we are preparing to regather for live Sunday worship beginning July 5.  More details will follow and everything is subject to change, but we are excited to continue our efforts to regather as a church!

For the first month or two we will not have children’s church.  Instead, children will be welcome to a shortened family worship service in the sanctuary.  Once the summer and fall progress we plan to slowly re-integrate children’s church programming.

A few details:
– Service will begin at 10am as usual and be finished by 11am
– Services will include worship, communion, teaching and ministry time, all done in a family-friendly and safe manner
– Nursing mothers room will be open
– Bring your own coffee, as no coffee will be served until a later time
– All are encouraged to come early (9:30) to hang out before service (we are eliminating the usual mid-service coffee break for now)
– Livestream will still be happening for those who wish to join us in that way
– All are encouraged to follow the established protocols for social distancing, but this is not the responsibility of the church and cannot be promised or policed
– Masks are optional and each person is encouraged to do as they feel appropriate
– Anyone showing any signs of illness is encouraged to remain at home and join us online
– The facility will be cleaned and sanitized like never before!!!
– All other church ministries (youth, outreaches, etc.) will resume as normal at the discretion of the respective leader of that ministry

We are enjoying regathering in various formats including home groups, picnics, and now a live Sunday service.  Praise the Lord!  It will be wonderful to welcome the presence of the Holy Spirit together in this context once again!

Our Community

At VCC, we believe that church is not a function: it is a family. Our religion is only as alive as we are, the people that pursue it. So, rather than acting as an organization, we want to act as an organism. We have no time for casual contacts and meaningless formalities. We are a fellowship on an adventure towards the stuff of God. Church means worshipping God together, studying the Bible together, fixing our cars together, hiking together, eating together, playing together, praying together... enjoying the warmth of the Holy Spirit in all parts of our lives together, not just in appointed meeting times.
